FAQ

Do you take insurance?

The short answer is no. We are a cash-based, out-of-pocket provider of Physical Therapy. We accept cash, credit cards, HSA and FSA. We do not accept medicare/medicaid. This allows us to spend the time necessary for personalized treatment one-on-one with a physical therapist. We can issue a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Often insurances will reimburse you at an out-of-network rate or count your cost towards your deductible. Cash pay practices often end up saving patients money if your insurance plan has a high deductible.

See our blog on this for more details.

How many sessions do I typically need?

This number will vary from person to person and diagnosis to diagnosis but in general most courses of care are between 3-7 visits. Through the use of proper diagnosis and education we can keep our course of care much shorter than some of the other PT clinics where you are not receiving one-on-one care. Our goal is to give you the tools to help treat yourself.

How do the virtual treatments work? What will I need?

We utilize IntakeQ which is a HIPAA compliant system. You do not need to download anything. You can just click the link from your appointment confirmation to gain access to the video chat. It is often helpful to check your browser compatibility prior to your first appointment. Telehealth appointments are very effective for treatment of most conditions. The extra education and training to be a certified MDT practitioner lends well to diagnosis and treatment that is patient driven and many patients can undergo effect treatment without the need for hands on examination.

Should I See My Physician Before Starting Physical Therapy?

In most cases, trying PT first is a safe and effective way to accelerate your rehabilitation process and reduce healthcare costs. In other words, a PT first approach can get you back to doing what you love more quickly and more affordably! As Doctors of Physical Therapy, we are trained to evaluate and treat musculoskeletal pain and injury. We include thorough screening questions in our examination process to ensure you are a good candidate for PT. In the rare case that we uncover a “red flag” that may indicate something more serious is going on, we are able to confidently refer you back to your physician and notify them of our findings.

Should I Get An Xray or MRI Before Starting Physical Therapy?

Imaging is not typically needed before starting PT. In some cases, such as an acute injury with extreme pain or inability to bear weight, imaging may be indicated. But most of the time, seeking PT first will be more useful in determining an appropriate treatment plan. If you are unsure whether or not you should have imaging done, we are happy to talk you through the decision making process with a free 15 minute consultation.

How do I get to the clinic?

Our clinic is located in the Trolley Healing Hub which is in the Trolley Corners Building (515 South 700 East, SLC UT 84102). The easiest access is to park in the parking garage and enter on the second floor of the building (follow signs for EOS gym). Once you are on the second floor of the building head to the southwest corner of the building and you will find Trolley Healing Hub. Enter suite 2D and feel free to wait in the waiting room until your practitioner comes to get you!
